An Aboroculturist has been ordered to pay £569 by Leicester Magistrates' Court for unauthorised work on two trees in Littlethorpe under Tree Preservation Orders (TPO.)
Thomas Bale, of Fleckney-based Long Field Tree and Hedge Care Ltd, undertook work on a Horse Chestnut Tree and Lime Tree in April. Both trees have been protected under a TPO since 2011.

Action Fraud has recently experienced an increase in the number of calls to members of the public by bogus bailiffs requesting payments for a "phantom" debt. The fraud involves being cold-called by someone purporting to be a bailiff working on behalf of a court, attempting to recover funds for a non-existent debt.

A four-week consultation is to be launched on Blaby District Council's plans to change its refuse and recycling collections from June 2018, following a substantial reduction in funding.

A new lottery with a £25,000 jackpot is launching in the District of Blaby to support local good causes.

Blaby District Council's refusal of an application of up to 170 dwellings in Countesthorpe has been upheld by The Planning Inspectorate.
