A new inspector has taken over as commander of policing across the Hinckley and Blaby Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA).

Inspector Emma Maxwell brings 18 years' policing experience to the new role after joining Leicestershire Police back in 2000.

Police are warning the public to be alert to a recent scam where people are approached by fake police officers and encouraged to take part in an undercover operation

Since November last year, Leicestershire Police has received eight reports of a scam of this nature and are warning the public to prevent further people falling victim to this crime.

More locations become Dementia Friendly

More locations become Dementia Friendly

Three public locations in the district have pledged to become more accessible to people living with dementia.

Forest House Medical Centre in Leicester Forest East, the Limes Medical Centre in Narborough and Glenfield Parish Council have become supporters of the Blaby District Dementia Action Alliance, which aims to create a district with dementia friendly residents and buildings.

Three dog owners have been prosecuted for failing to ensure their pets' microchip details were up to date.

£5000 fine for untidy land in Whetstone

A land owner has been ordered to pay £4,950.38 and issued a Remedial Order by Leicester Magistrates' Court following non-compliance with a Community Protection Notice.
